Dante + Kaiden - Contest Prize Art

Here we finally have the second of the contest prizes that took me WAY TOO FREAKING LONG TO DO orz In my defense, to make up for the wait, I chose to upgrade this prize to a full coloured two character piece. Originally, I owed her a one full character sketch and a chibi doodle. So hopefully that helps take some of the sting away

I won't lie though... when Dragonnerd445 asked for her vampire characters Dante and Kaiden I was definitely daunted by the fact they're... definitely not anthro  Where it all began.... My human depicting skills are haggard at best... so I was half procrastinating out of dread of seeing what weak attempt I'd manage. I think it's probably sufficient to say I more or less psyched myself out into putting the whole concept on a big scary pedestal and was afraid to even try 8( Which is really silly when I say it outloud, but yeah. Between that and just pushing it on the backburner in general, it was on a firm toxic halt.

Well, fast forward to a couple years later, and I was loosely mentioning it to her via notes at some point (apologising probably), and then recently she said if the human concept was too much, I could just anthro their wolf forms Kaiden Dante On the Hunt Soooo, once I finally got my head out of my butt, I did just that XP *HIT* AND HERE THEY ARE FOR YOUR ANTHRO PLEASURE.

These are the references I went most off of Dante Want A Drink? KaidenDante Rest Regarding their clothing details and stuff. Though as you can see, I tweaked the colours a bit. Because if there's one thing I'm adverse to, it's an overuse of black So I switched Dante's darker items to an indigo blue (matches his lighter blue shirt, no?), and used a variety of cool grey tones on Kaiden. I only used the ACTUAL black on his hair and chin scruff~ Makes it stand out more

Them having drinks was sort of a whimsical idea on my part. Something for them to be doing while posing 8D; Dante has a wine goblet type thing since he strikes me as a more fancier taste, so to speak (though whether that's wine or blood in the cup is up for debate... |D), whereas Kaiden is a big and rougher guy, so I figure he might drink something a little stronger? Scotch or whiskey or something, idk~ Whatever works for him! (He's seated on a stool btw, otherwise he'd be towering over Dante if he was standing Told you he was big!)

Again, I am supreme embarrassed at how long this took, but I hope the upgrade and it being finally finished is worth something! Thanks for being supportive and helpful when I was freaking out about it, and of course, for the generously long patience! I really hope you like it~ As fail as my human skills are, I do enjoy your characters and your own work of these two and I look forward to seeing/read more :3 Enjoy!
