Hello there folks

This journal has been a long time in coming... was waiting for some more solid details, before announcing it. And seeing as Brandon just recently booked his plane ticket, now seems like the perfect time

So here it is: My fiance ~
ZaneRedrald is coming up April 25th, to spend about two weeks (plus a few days) vacation visiting me

As some of you know, our fifth anniversary, of being a couple, is April 30th, which means this will be our first anniversary spent together in person

Know what's great? That's not even the best part of it

The best part is something me and him have been plotting and planning (with my family) for the last two months, give or take. And well... to sum it up?
We're getting married!
To quickly clear up a couple of questions regarding it:
-It's going to be a small civil ceremony (basically, just members of my local immediate family. Brandon's family sadly can't afford the trip, but we've promised to get them copies of everything, such as photos and videos). So no bridesmaids or groomsmen, or whatnot (in case any of you wonder why you're not invited, heheh 8D; ). We're keeping it small and simple.
-It's going to be held April 30th (our fifth anniversary!). So I'll pretty much be away anyway, from the 25th til the 13th of May (which is how long he'll be staying). I may consider posting some wedding photos online (here), but I might just send them to close friends, since I'm a bit iffy about that. We'll see

But yeah. I know a small quiet ceremony with only a dozen of people may sound not all that exciting, but you know what? I think it's probably the most appropriate way for me. Because if I invited my best friends, I'd be all excited to see them and all that, and it would take away from the real value of the occasion: it's about me and my husband-to-be. It's our day. That's what really counts. That we spend the best of it together

Also, keeping it small and simple is better for our budget

Not spending thousands of dollars (that would be better saved for something more solid like our future!) for the shindig makes me feel frugal

Less of a dent on everyone's wallets. Also not hiring a photographer (I have at least three relatives attending that have digital cameras, and one of them has a video camera as well~), and my family is making/supplying the food and cake. We're all pretty much chipping in our own contributions :3
So yeah. We're both very excited, and March marks less than two months away from the wedding!

Still things me and him need to arrange on our separate accounts (I need to book our location, and he needs to get his suit/tux and the rings), but most of the other stuff is taken care of for the time being. Will announce any progress on the stuff next time I update this journal

And there you have it. Feel special guys; you finally know!

Devious Comments
Seriously though, I wish the two of you all the best and am so happy for you. I think civil ceremonies are nice myself. I've never been to a wedding mind you, but I have never seen the point in spending thousands of dollars that would better be used for creating a life together, on a one day event. All of the happiness in the world to you two, and well, I do kinda hope to get to see Wedding pictures from you ^_^

Goddamn all you n00bs and weeaboos! Stop cluttering my fandoms with your STUPID!
The only wedding I've been to is my mom's wedding, which was also a civil ceremony, that was held out near the beach (it was a great party... WAY too many guests though xD; It was more or less an excuse to drag all her family members out from Ontario and... there's a LOT of them o.O).
We're planning on an outdoors ceremony as well... might have it at the Bayside, if they give me a good deal!
Yeah, my thoughts are the same, regarding spenditures on weddings

Ah, well sometimes having an excuse to drag out family members is a good things. I always say the more the merrier, but that usually only comes to family.
An outdoor celebration sounds beautiful, so long as the weather cooperates. You said you were planning on getting married at the end of April though, so you should be in the clear... I should also HOPE that the Bayside give you a good deal. They should at least do that much for an employee getting married.
Ah, don't be embarrassed at how much you spent on the dress. The thing is, that can be turned into a family heirloom, and I really think that a wedding dress is something special to a woman, so you should allow yourself at least a little luxry in that regard ^_^. Yay pictures! I will be excited to see them when you finally get them up.

N.E.R.D. not even remotely dorky
Anyway, I wish you and Brandon a long LOOONG life of happiness, and a home, and little ones running around because Brandon is asking "What's this?" holding up a condom LOL Seriously, if the wedding will be simple, I'd like to hear about you two celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary, and hopefully everybody will be invited to that (my grandparents recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, so that idea kicked in)
Too bad only immediate family goes to the wedding. I take my classes online, so I could've attended and still do classwork. But, hey, it could be worse... it could be a LESBIAN wedding!!! Ya know, all these women and... nothing. Eh, now you know how I feel, the WORLD is my lesbian wedding!
... I'll shut up now. Again, congrats and good luck ^_^
