~*~
Hello folks. Today's gonna have a more personal update from my end :O

Fair bit going on in my end... my mother has gone and gotten us/me a second job, see. It's cleaning up some offices and a couple bathrooms, at a Ford car dealership at night, for only like... an hour a night, six days a week (as my mom kept harping, "What's an hour out of your day??") for either $20 an hour (which my go up to $25-30) or $1000 (give or take) guarenteed a month.

Now while I'd admit this is a good money opportunity, and for which may very well be pretty darn easy work, I'm still... pretty mixed feelings about it. I'm worried about just how much time this will really be dipping out of my days, either working or just getting back and forth to it...

I'm either going to be depending on mom or dad to drive me there (until I get around to getting my new driver's permit, which could take awhile yet, since I'm not ready), or biking there (my stepdad offered to look for a decent bike for me, which is helpful). Now while biking obviously appeals more to me; I'll get exercize and won't have to depend on anyone or waste gas, it could have it's downsides too.

Depends on how long it takes to get there/how I'm feeling/the weather. (There's also the tiny chance that it's not safe to be biking at night, but considering I've been walking around this area at night many times before, I'm not that bothered. I also hope my bike won't get stolen, but I'll take my precautions with that.)

And even if it is only an hour night... it basically means I'll never have a FULL day off from either job. Which makes me worry about spreading myself too thin and burning out... It's suffice to say, I'm pretty mixed signals about it all.

Well, we and mom got the phone call confirming it today; we start Monday night. So I'll just have to see how it goes from there and see how I like it. Dad's at least given me support, saying I can quit if I really don't like it. Mom'll probably rip me a new one... but that's nothing new. I guess I'll give it a few weeks/a month, to see if I can handle it. Either way, I'll be making some extra money, which is a plus.

...I'm starting to wish I didn't take all the trades I did this month *sweatdrop* I really gotta buckle down on Colour comic pages. I seriously need to get back into the swing of them and get a proper buffer going again, so I can stop freaking out. If I'm going to be losing personal time, I need to manage my projects more accordingly.

I guess that's all my thoughts on the matter, for time being :P I'll be sure to get back to you guys soon and let you know how it's going. Sorry to sound so pesimistic... I'm sure things will probably go smoother than I'm thinking. I just hate starting a new job, to be honest XD; Wish me luck!

Oh. Happy (Belated) Mother's Day! :D (will post something in Scraps for it, tomorrow, so check there )

You poor thing! Although I wouldn't worry about getting exercise on top of all that cleaning, you get enough doing the job. Remember to take time to rest, drawing can be draining too!

Cleaning is so much better than dealing customers face to face, but it does mean you might have start taking one or two more showers than normal. ^^

If anything else you are getting paid...think of what you can buy with well earned cash!!!

That's true, that's why I've always taken jobs that are "behind the scenes" instead ones up front. Plus, I don't mind cleaning :) It's pretty routine and easy. I like to think I'm good at it |D And you've got a point there; we'll have to see how yucky the new job is xD Don't think it looked that bad though.

Great thing is, new job is basically me not having to deal with ANYONE while I'm cleaning. Not even other people who work there during the day, including managers/bosses 8D *cackles* So no one peering over one's shoulder and working at my own pace is a plus :D

Yush!!! That's definitely w00tage ;P Main reason I'm doing it obviously

I certainly wish you well, and I do hope that this new job goes well for you. I know for a fact that I can't do something like that. Last year I was going to work and school full time and had no days off and I crumpled... Of course that was also around the time I needed surgery so that likely didn't help matters much. You seem like you're a strong person though, so I have faith that you should be okay. And hey, if you're not, there's no shame in letting go of the new cleaning job. Don't over work yourself.

$20 an hour sounds pretty appealing...but making sure you have enough time for fun is important too!

But if one always assumes the worst then there's no way one can be disappointed...and one gets a nice surprise if all goes well! yeah I dunno if that's a good motto or not either. :p
