Silas + Tessa Gemineye

HOLY CARP, it should not have taken this long to finish and post an update 8| I'M ALIVE I SWEAR. I'll post a journal explaining some of the lag later >>; The usual nonsense of late.

At last! My final inked piece leftover from November |D; Really didn't mean to leave this one so long, but considering I hadn't finalized the wardrobe colour schemes yet, and other assorted lame reasons, I just saved it XD FAIL IS I. orz

But yes, I had wanted to create this piece for good reason One) Tessa here [link] was in SERIOUS need of new art/redesigning. 2) Silas needed to be drawn/designed in general (I made a rough modern concept for him via Sims 2, but he needed an old country design, since that's where his more important first role is |D) And 3) YAAAY KIIIITIES~ *bricked*

Oh! Also to show I didn't -entirely- neglect my (re)designing characters duties last year While the total number of them done was quite less than previous years (but so was my art pieces tally in general XP 2012 SUUUCKED!) I still managed to squeeze out five 8D THAT'S SOMETHING ;; Hopefully I'll be a little more on the ball this year >>

But yes As said before, I've drawn Tessa the one time [link] but damn, that was over six years ago now She really needed the update. And as a reminder, she's the older sister (by two years) of Paul [link]

Silas, obviously (unless you watched my Sims 2 Tumblr escapades back in the day XD) is a new face. He ends up being Tessa's second husband, and the father of her(their) children, Tobias [link] and Kimberly "Kipp" [link] But let's just say the have a story/history that happens yeeears before that 8|

As I mentioned, Silas is Tessa's second husband. Her first husband? He was an arranged marriage for her, back when she and Paul were much younger, (in old country) in a culture where teenage children were wedded off to the highest bidder >_>; Marriages that would bring them wealth and status. Tessa was married off at sixteen (she's lucky it wasn't younger 8|) to an older widower. As far as older husbands went, she was fortunate- he was kind and fond of her and they got on well. But even so, he was long confirmed to be impotent, meaning that Tessa could never expect to have any children from him. Definitely a blow to someone who eventually wanted to be a mother ;_;

But anyway... I won't explain the whole story of how the land lies (because lawl, spoilers) but two years into the marriage, Silas comes into the picture. Let's just say he's well acquainted with Tessa's husband, and is quite shocked at him for (re)marrying a young bride. A very pretty one at that >>; And as proper a young lady as Tessa is, she can't help but secretly admit, upon meeting Silas, he's quite charming and handsome *o* Needless to say, there's quite a bit of tension and eventual feelings unspoken between them. Neither would dare -act- on them of course (as said, Tessa's too proper of a lady for that, and Silas wouldn't betray her husband who he views like a father) .

I'm not sure if they verbally admit feelings while Tessa is still married or not. They could just as easily not and the tension would still be pretty high. But I could also see Silas finally cracking and just -telling- her (not expecting her to -do- anything of course, but just wanting her to know that he cares for her). But that would definitely end with Tessa not wanting to hear it/denying her own feelings, so... ouch ;; Definitely interesting to muse around with. But yeah, it's not all set in stone yet XD FUN FOR ME LATER ON.

Anywho, RAMBLE RAMBLE. As for designing them, I updated Tessa's colouring a bit to match her daughter's fur tones for most part, and Silas needed the red hair (to again, match Kipp's colour scheme ), but I'd always knew he was going to have the slightly Siamese colour scheme to begin with, since that's where his son Tobias (and consequently, his own child, Topaz) gets it from~ YAY, genetics make the world go round |D *HIT* Or at least my fictional one, lololol.

Used some various references for their older fashioned clothing, with a twist of my own colourations Tessa's I'm sure screams me XD LOOKIT ALL THE GREEEEN! (seriously, I would wear that dress 8U) That style of dress is actually rather pretty~ I tried to keep Silas's outfit as toned down as possible, hence the grey tones and pale blue XD The pants are new pencil I found - YAY NEW EXCITING COLOURS! Pumpkin orange, just shaded very lightly As usual... gradient background effect is probably way too bright XD; MY BAAAD orz

Still, I hope this is worth the wait in the meantime :3 I'm hoping to get some legitimate time to work on some other stuff in the next week or so - HERE'S HOPING >o< *flails*
