Well, what can I say I had to do this. If anything, just to prove I could. I've never drawn a human character before, so it only seemed right that I should try it, for variety's sake, and experimentation. And also. L is made of win and demanded homage on my humble behalf

So I loaded up two episodes, and paused them on decent shots of L, from a front view, and a 3/4 view, to get a fair grasp of both facial features and his hair. I made this angle of his face on my own, however. I also made a round mark indicating the shape of the nostril, since I noticed the style never does that Just the line of the nostril opening. Since I wanted this to look distinctly like I drew it _somehow_

I also tried to draw his eyes in the shape of my own eye style... but it failed horribly, so I went for human shaped eyes (perhaps that's something my own human style should have I keep mucking with it and am never really content...), which looks much better. I shaded in the pupils the way the anime makes it look: with a slight light around the edges. I think I left it a little too light on the right eye, but oh well I also wish I didn't connect the eyebrow line to his nose line. Live and learn the hard way!

Aside from slight nitpicks, I'm actually really happy with how this turned out Pretty darn good for a first attempt, no? I was so bent on capturing his hair, above all things... since his shaggy floof hair is love Not bad at all! I almost considered drawing him almost full body... but I chickened out and decided to keep it to the shoulders, lest I ruin a good thing Maybe I'll try it if I ever decide to draw him again.

It's funny: this started out as a sketch, that I liked so much I decided to ink it, almost left it, then decided to be a little more daring and coloured it in via black prismacolor pencil (not actual colour, since I don't think I have anything that would suit his skin colour =/ He's so pasty! Plus, black and white suits him). I did however save a file of it in ink, so I might post that in scraps later

This sort of thing would usually go to scraps, due to lack of detail and colour, but since i quite like this and would like people to see it (instead of sending it to scraps, where it would probably be overlooked, since who knows who watches scraps or what), so it goes to main gallery. Go me, having finally drew something other than Sonic fanart and my original stuff
